You just need to come hungry
Trusted for BBQ catering, we’ve fed groups of 60 to 6000 under our Blue Ketchup BBQ label.
Whether you want to celebrate with staff or show appreciation to tenants or customers, let us know what you need.
Once we’ve decided on menu, we may make a site visit so we can discuss a serving plan.
We’ll make sure your group can be served comfortably and efficiently.
Or the chicken or salmon or smokies or steak. Or, can’t forget, veggie burgers.
Plus we’ve got a variety of side dishes, salads, desserts and drinks.
Check out our BBQ menus to see some options or reach out to our Catering and Event Consultants who can help you get the perfect food for your group.
From onsite grills, to tents and linens, cutlery and servers, and of course delicious food, we can provide you with everything needed to create a successful event.
It really depends on your event’s size and complexity. We can often put together simple events in a week. That being said, our summer months can be very busy with some clients reserving time slots 10 to 12 months in advance. In other words, book as early as possible to avoid disappointment!
Whenever possible we grill onsite. While safety is always a primary concern, we’re pretty good at getting our grills just about anywhere! When appropriate, we’ll do a site visit in advance to go over setup plans, serving areas, traffic flow, etc.
Based on standard staffing needs, we will provide you with a quote up-front. Then, once we discuss your vision for your event, we can adjust the quote accordingly.
We will be happy to arrange this for you! First, let’s consider what type of event you are holding. For a casual event, we can supply you with biodegradable plates and cutlery. If you’re planning something more upscale, we have an excellent working relationship with a top rental company. We can get back to you ASAP with a quote on quality dish rentals.
We include tenting to cover the prep and food tables. If you would like your guests to eat at tables and/or under tents, we can also include that in our proposal.
With their extensive experience and understanding, our event planners and executive chef will help you to choose just right amount of food for your event.
The typical BBQ lasts 1-2 hours. Even with large groups in the thousands, we site plan and set up for the most efficient traffic flow and food service.
We cater for special needs every day! We will be happy to accommodate any allergy restrictions, and preferences such as gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian.
Good question. For hot food, where possible we cook on-site. Otherwise, we prepare hot food in our kitchen, then put it in Thermal Hot Boxes for transport. Your food will arrive hot – guaranteed! As for cold food, we deliver that in refrigerated vans. And be assured – our staff are Food-Safe certified.
Yes to both! Metro Vancouver has some gorgeous parks, and we’ve catered in many of them. Alternatively, sometimes the best place to entertain your friends and family is right in your own home. In that case, we will take care of all your food needs – you will be a guest at your own event!
We certainly can. It really depends on what type of event you are holding. Some clients prefer to provide their own servers, so that they have more contact with their guests.
Our sustainability plan can be summed up in three words: recycle, re-use, biodegrade.
Less than twenty percent of our waste becomes garbage. Any leftover food that is still safe to eat, according to FOODSAFE guidelines, is distributed to a food mission in the Downtown Eastside. Or, if it is still packaged, to a food redistribution organization.
All paper, glass, metal and plastic waste is collected for recycling, while refundable pop and juice containers are held for collection by charitable groups, such as the Vancouver Food Bank.
Anything that may be safely cleaned – such as plates, other tableware and metal flatware – is thoroughly cleaned and re-used.
We also plan all events carefully to minimize waste and make sure all fruit and vegetable waste from events and from our kitchens ends up as compost.
And, we support BC’s food producers by sourcing our fresh ingredients locally, whenever possible.
